The concept of Guardian Angels is very popular today: someone to watch over you and keep you out of harm’s way. To believe in a personal guardian angel seems very popular nowadays. There is no scientific evidence that guardian angels exist, but fascinatingly the belief in these spiritual entities can be traced back for thousands and thousands of years. In fact, the idea of guardian angels is scattered throughout the Old Testament and in the New Testament. We are told that angels are the intermediaries between God and man.
The belief in guardian angels doesn’t seem to any less than it was all those years ago and I wonder why this is. In an age were most of us are a little cynical, why is it that folks want to believe that we have an angel looking over our shoulder. In the bible we are told that guardian angels are spiritual beings who are assigned to serve people on Earth, intermediaries between God and man. Maybe you can’t accept the notion of angels but perhaps you can remember a outwardly miraculous occurrence in your life which you put down to pure coincidence? Believers would explain that this incident was an angel guiding you. What about all the tragedies that happen in our lives? Where were the guardian angels then? Believers tell us that angels don’t always step in to help because we need to learn to handle problems for ourselves.
Is it achievable for anyone to contact his guardian angel? There are many ways to get in touch: calling the angels mentally, making a written petition, visualizing their presence or calling out to them. Once we asked our guardian angel for help, how do we know that they are there? Some reported signs of their presence are a stream of warm air, a white feather or just a sensation of internal warmth and ease.
The question is – do all of us have guardian angels? The traditional belief is that every single person has his own guardian angel assigned to him. Especially, in demanding times, it’s very comforting to believe that you have a guardian angel looking out for you.
