Just like local trainers many online coaches also offer free lessons. Youtube and yahoo videos are a veritable treasure trove of instructional videos. But there is so much information online that its easy to get lost so follow only a few reliable sources. 

You local library may also house a collection of books and videos related to the subject. 

You will find many music stores in malls and shopping centers that have free music lessons for their regular customer. Quite a few of these shops will expect you to register and be a regular student.
