Finding Free Singing Voice Lessons

October 3rd, 2009 · No Comments · Arts and Entertainment

If you have decided that you do want to pursue a career in singing you will need to eventually consider taking singing voice lessons. The recording industry has cut throat competition and the only way for a person to make it here is accumulating all the knowledge that you can regardless of where you are going to use the information; in reality show, in an audition or while making a demo tape; it will be very useful for you. Many people make comments about how a particular performer on TV could’ve done a better job and the advises are doled out because people are so sure than they could’ve done a better job. But if they were to be pitched against a professional the difference in finesse would be very apparent not because they lack talent but because they don’t know enough about the finer points of professional singing. If you want to learn about the various aspects of singing like tone, pitch, voice range, vocabulary, breath control, singing voice lessons are the perfect way to do so. These lessons are beneficial for beginners and accomplished singers alike.

The only problem is that most beginners simply cannot afford singing voice lessons. So if you are a beginner and would like to start with a few free lessons there are several places to find them.

The first is to approach the church choir; you can get free vocal coaching during the choir practice sessions. Also most choir leaders are accomplished singers who will be able to give you sound advice on vocal styles and vocalization exercises. It can be safely suggested that a church choir is one of the best places to work on your singing voice. And you will be able to work on your singing while you do something for your community.

Another way is to look for vocal instructors who offer free lessons. You will have to look for local voice coaches online or in the yellow pages. You may even want to call a few of them to check if they do offer free lessons. This is a good place to start particularly if you are a beginner since you will get the opportunity to experiment for free.

You may also want to look for singing lessons online. If you are looking for free tutorials and instructional videos there are many sites to choose from. Just like local trainers many online coaches also offer free lessons. Youtube and yahoo videos are a veritable treasure trove of instructional videos. But there is so much information online that its easy to get lost so follow only a few reliable sources.

You local library may also house a collection of books and videos related to the subject.

You will find many music stores in malls and shopping centers that have free music lessons for their regular customer. Quite a few of these shops will expect you to register and be a regular student.
